Video Games (Temp under construction. Sorry)

My Perfect taste in Video Games:

I am a massive fan of JRPG's, Visual Novels (as you can see above), and the Indie scene in general. This extends particularly to RPG Maker games, however I tend to enjoy any indie titles with interesting idea's or gameplay.

On DRM: I HATE DRM, which is why I typically use GOG or Itch.io to source my paid games. I only use Steam if there are no alternatives, but that's just a me thing.

Corpse Party

Corpse Party is my absolute favourite when it comes to Japanese Horror Games. It's a remarkably simple premise, however the lore, atmosphere and level design is masterful.

Corpse Party Blood Covered

Corpse Party Blood Covered is my personal favourite out of the series. The general premise is that a group of students perform a ritual in their classroom on a rainy night, unknowingly sending them to another dimension, a school named "Heavenly Host Elementary. The students, now split up, must find a way to escape, and uncover the truth behind Heavenly Host.

This game is a remake of CORPSE-PARTY, an original RPG Maker game which released all the way back in 1996. This game expands on the simple story of the orignal by a massive scale, and is well worth checking out it. Links to purchase this game can be found directly below.

GOG

Steam

Corpse Party (2021)

A remake of Blood Covered made in 2021. Contains extra endings, new chapters and extra characters. It still retains the 2d style of Blood Covered, just with a higher quality. If you're a new player, this title is probably the one to go for, as it contains more content than the original.

GOG

Steam

Corpse Party Book of Shadows

Book of Shadows is an anthology, containing stories set before, during and after the original story, as well as several alternate universe stories. This game is full of Lore not explored in the original, so if you liked the original and have an interest in the story, this follow up has you covered. The gameplay is quite different though, you explore Heavenly Host on a map screen, and look around the environments for interactive objects. The dialogue is presented in a visual novel style, with CG's and voice acting.

GOG

Steam

Other Corpse Party Titles

I haven't mentioned all of the corpse party titles here, as these three are my favourite. The other three are also great games, but only worth checking out if you have played either blood covered, or 2021, as well as book of shadows. There's also another game coming out later this year, so keep your eyes peeled.

Some cool little games I found:

Basilisk SNES / Basilisk 2000

These two games are both part of one experience. Basilisk SNES is presented as an old, unfinished video game developed for the SNES. The game is playable through the SNESy+ "emulator", where you can explore playable fragments of the game through Save States.

Basilisk 2000 Is set up as the successor to Basilisk SNES, an unfinished 3D PC game developed in the year 2000. You experience this title through the game's development tool, allowing you to check individual object notes and explore hidden areas for clues, all forming a story, the truth behind Basilisk as a game project.

There's also this documentary on youtube, which is really high quality. If you're interested in playing these, I've linked them above.

GU-L

GU-L is an obscure untranslated 20+ year old RPG Maker 2000 title. I recently found out about it through the youtube video below.

If you're interested in playing this, the above video contains links in it's description.

Music

Note:

At the moment, I'm listening to a ton of Post-Punk, Darkwave and Indie Rock. I also really like Eurobeat. I'm actually pretty open with music, and listen to all sorts of stuff, so this section may end up with a lot of conflicting genres, but that's just how I am.

Some good stuff:

Russian Doomer Music Playlist (not mine, but it's good)

cyrf_dark_planet_低+冒頭ループ (from yume 2kki, good song)

A collection of Yume Nikki/ Yume 2kki sleep mixes

Small post-punk playlist I found

A playlist of cyberpunk dark-ambience tracks I've collected.

Forever Dreaming.

Soviet Post-Punk Playlist
